As I said in the Lowser thread,
For Lowser to be good, OSKit must first be implemented, generalizing things like window handing, application launching and multithreading, a subclassed directory lister that knows about application bundles and icons, clipboard, ...
I would love to write it myself, but I never seem to get the time. Theoretically next term will be calmer, but you never know... Thus I'm putting it up here as a collaborative effort, if anyone wants to join me.
One more thing: OSKit, Lowser and all GUI apps need to be designed with the fact that the PSP doesn't have a mouse in mind: A cursor that you move around should not be the main form of locomotion. Rather, I was thinking along the lines of using L+arrows to switch between windows, and R+arrows to switch between apps (of course to be overridable by fullscreen games). All windows should then be designed to be arrow-friendly rather than mouse-friendly (like menus in games, but better) |
