Does anyone know what the purpose of the two metal bars below the DC IN port on the PSP are?
I wonder why no one has said anything about them... unless its somehow obvious...? |

If what you mean is the two metal bars right below the "DC 5V in" hole, the official guide book says it is the pin for power charge(page22, top).
Since it is in the metal pin form, it seems clearly that there will be a charge desk for the PSP later(like many mobile phones). |

| It seems they are directly connected to the power connector (tested with a multimeter). My guess, as konfig said, would be that they will be used for a drop-in charger. Either that or perhaps used for an external device that requires more current than the usb port can output? |
