| This is probably a stupid question thats why i put it in general but what abut the 1.0 firmware prevents us from running it iv heard things about encryption and all but i dont 100% understand any help would be awesome |

The 1.0 version firmware ALLOWS us to run homebrew apps. It's the 1.5 that does not.
Reason as I understand is this:
In order for an executable file to be ran, it needs to be digitally signed. The 1.0 version did not check this, so all you had to do was just make an executable then run it. With 1.5, it checks to make sure that it is signed, and when these homebrew's dont have a signature, it does not allow the app to run.
If I am wrong, please correct me, but that is what I believe to be true. |

| I meant what about the 1.0 firmware makes it so we cant downgrade to it but as youv pointed out its the 1.5 that stops us so thanks for answering my question even know you misunderstood. |

| Heh, after I had posted it I thought of that... If you look in THIS thread, you can see they are looking at a way to change the firmware at a much deeper hardware level than a software level. |
