| SO basically I want to know how to combine back-up data from 2 different PS3 hard-drives to one new hard-drive. A friend of mine put a different hard-drive in his PS3. Well, now he wants to format the one hard-drive that''s in his PS3 (let's call it HD2), but he has data on it that he doesn't want to lose. But he also has data on the first hard-drive HD1. So he wants to know if he can somehow combine the data from HD1 and HD2 into a single back-up? |

If you are talking about the PS3 game partition, forget it, the partition is encrypted, and only the PS3 that created the partition can read it from within the PS3 OS.
Use the backup/restore utility to back the contents to an external drive and restore from that again if you need to change HDD. It can only restore to the SAME PS3. |
