would anyone recomend shipping a psp from japan over here? also would you be able to play games released in this country on a psp from japan?

I got mine via Lik-Sang. They ship world-wide.

As for regional coding, it has been said that only movies will have regional coding, not games. But at any rate, Europe is the same region as Japan (2), so no worries.
