happy happy joy joy..
wait. this is not dev related, singing and celebrating is not good for coders, you may stray away from the enlightened path, this can not be tolerated, and will not be tolerated. Anti-celebration measures have been activated and punishment will be swift and severe(but never subtle), try not to mock me that will only further anger and spur me into action, my keyboard can beat your keyboard. Now this could mark the end of rather harmless jihad against happy celebrating(hit it kool and the gang) coders, or it could be the beginning of a new post/novel/12 volume book series by gorim, what lies ahead you may wonder. The source is ahead, the enlightened source, the one written with green text on black background on old crt tubes..
Hm I lost the red thread there, anyway happy 4th, Ill buy a cake on the way home. _________________ Kung VU |

Happy Birthday and well done from rainy Yorkshire, England.
IIRC, I found out about the site around when PS2-Linux was coming out but I neither had the talent or interest to get stuck in!
Now I'm jumping on board for the PSPdev :^) |

Uh oh! Boy are you in trouble now...
| Quote: | The Chicago-based music publisher Clayton F. Summy Company, working with Jessica Hill, published and copyrighted "Happy Birthday" in 1935. Under the laws in effect at the time, the Hills' copyright would have expired after one 28-year term and a renewal of similar length, falling into public domain by 1991. However, the Copyright Act of 1976 extended the term of copyright protection to 75 years from date of publication, and the Copyright Term Extension Act of 1998 added another 20 years, so under current law the copyright protection of "Happy Birthday" will remain intact until at least 2030.
Does this mean that everyone who warbles "Happy Birthday to You" to family members at birthday parties is engaging in copyright infringement if they fail to obtain permission from or pay royalties to the song's publisher? No. Royalties are due, of course, for commercial uses of the song, such as playing or singing it for profit, using it in movies, television programs, and stage shows, or incorporating it into musical products such as watches and greeting cards; as well, royalties are due for public performance, defined by copyright law as performances which occur "at a place open to the public, or at any place where a substantial number of persons outside of a normal circle of a family and its social acquaintances is gathered." So, crooning "Happy Birthday to You" to family members and friends at home is fine, but performing a copyrighted work in a public setting such as a restaurant or a sports arena technically requires a license from ASCAP or the Harry Fox Agency (although such infringements are rarely prosecuted). |

| This is a development site which actively discourages topics about commercial products. This isn't a game hacker site. As such, there are not that many regular members. There are lots of lurkers, and tons of one-time posters who get slapped upside the head for asking how to hack a game. The first set cannot post until they register, and the second leave after complaining about the poor treatment they received. :) |

Best thing about ps2dev: great hub for ps2 hobby development. I think that I appreciate the IOP libraries and source above all...
Thing I'd like to see: Guncon2 and EyeToy support. :-) |
