I saw a retail store selling Japanese PSP-1000 units (confirmed that it's 1000 and not 1001/10001K or whatever), but I'm still a little uncertain wether or not it has V1.0..

Do all PSP-1000 have 1.0 (the PSP i bought first had 1.0 and was PSP-1000)?

I believe the model number is the same, regardless of the firmware version.

Look at the datestamp on the bottom of the box. You want March or earlier Japanese PSP's to be reasonably confident of having the right firmware.
