:?: I have a PS2 game that I would like to extract the models and the textures for a mod that I am doing. Is there anyway to extract this info from a .AFS file. I have successfully extracted the sound from my PS2 game but would like the models and textures as well. Any help would be greatly appricated.

You are on your own with this. This site is about developing new programs on the Playstation 2.

Extracting content from copyrighted material for the purpose of making game modifications is definately one of the darker shades of gray legally.

And furthermore, I think it's quite rude posting twice the same question. Allow me to suggest you to read that document: http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

Hey man I am sorry.. Why I posted twice was i have looked so long for a program to open these files with no avail it it very frustrating when someone tells you to read some because you posted twice??? Big deal if you have an answer then post it if you don't post something like Oobles did that's all that is what these forums are for correct? Too Post things? Not just rip on someone because they asked for your help.. my two cents..but I am sorry for posting twice won't do that again.

Modding a game isn't necessarily bad; this is what's kept Freespace 2 alive -- one of my all time fave PC games. This is very distinct from warez, though.

If you're making tweaks to your own game to add new levels, or whatever, I don't think anyone would have a problem with that. If you dissect their data files to determine how you go about doing that, again, fine. If you distribute models/textures/sounds/whatever that you've created, that's your right; in fact, it's a nice thing to do, you're giving back to the community.

But if you're taking some else's models (or textures, or sounds, or whatever) and posting them, that's not cool. Even if you change the format so it's easier for someone else to use -- e.g., you took the sound files and converted them from a propriatary format to MP3, or put the models in 3dsmax format -- it's still warez as far as I'm concerned.

so that's my sermon...

As far as your question: I'm not familiar with that file type, but that's just me, my experience is somewhat limited. Maybe this is a proprietary format, in which case you're on your own, and you'll have to research the file format yourself. Or, it's a known file format, in which case Google is your friend.
