I am currently developing a website to host homebrew software and I am going to work to keep an up to date database of all homebrew releases.

I want to try and make this an easy place for the general public to download software for the psp but I also want to try and keep the developers happy as well.

I know that the majority of you have your groups and sites that host your apps and PSPhacker.com has the majority of applications available but I want to try and do things the way the public wants them.

I am in the very early stages of development. (Graphical design side of things) and once my server comes online then I will get a functioning site out the door. But I figured I would post here and ask if any developers have any requests for the site. How would YOU like to see things done?

All requests are welcome and will be taken into consideration while developing the site.

Only post the top 3-5 newest apps on the front page.
Keep updates to a program all organized (SNES y1, y2 ... y20, y21) all in one folder.

If your site is well organized, I'll definitely use it instead of psphacker/updates

Sounds like a cool idea. I'll be a fan if things go well.

Here are a few tips/ideas:

1. Make it easy to tell which apps are open-source and which aren't. For example.. each file might have a few categories. An open-source SNES emulator might fit into a couple of categories like: "Emulators - SNES", "Open-Source." So if you would click "Open-Source" it would list all open-source apps (including but not limited to emulators-- just anything open-source). And if you would click "Emulators - SNES" it would list all SNES emulators.

2. You should only have one "entry" for each application, not one for each release of the app. Example: if you click "Emulators: SNES" on PSPupdates.com, you'll see all of the version history of all of the apps.. too cluttered in my opinion.

3. Make it easy to submit a file.. I'll probably be submitting my Breakout game when it's released 8)

4. Forums would be cool and I'd probably be an active member as long as teh community is aimed at both developers and end-users with no big sway in either direction.
