I guess this belongs to the EE development part of the forum...
There are references here and there to the rom1 part of the firmware in the PS2. For example, [RO]man on http://ps2dev.pgamers.com/ mentions it, but does not go into any details. Does anyone know where rom1 resides and what it contains?
Thanks,

rom1 contains the dvd video driver, or really it contains the erom image from where the dvd video driver is loaded. It really isn't very ineresting to look at.
If you are really so inclined it is at 0xBE000000 in EE address space. |

Thanks. I have no access to Linux Kit and/or modded PS2 hardware, so could not try to search it myself.
BTW, the last update on http://ps2dev.pgamers.com/ have been quite a while ago. I wonder if [RO]man is still doing PS2 firmware disassembling/documenting... |

| That guy rocks. If you have something you're particularly interested in, it's worth sending him an e-mail. I've e-mailed him a while ago about the reset process & he sent me a few files of dissasm and more importantly parameter values etc that he hadn't yet published. It seems the more you share with him (ie stuff you discover), the more stuff he sends. |
