I'm about to install linux on my PS3 and I was wondering if there was any reason that I shouldn't be going with FC8 rather than FC7. If there is no hits against FC8, I would go with that since it has better integration of Pulse Audio, and having used both on my normal PCs, I've found FC8 to be substantially more stable and generally quicker at updating than FC7.
Anyways, thoughts? |

I've read somewhere FC8 can't run at all on PS3.
So, no need to think too much... |

Fedora 8 PPC works and is fairly easy to install on the PS3, but there are some problems that don't exist in Fedora 7. See this thread on Fedora Forum for details. The main problem for me was with the PulseAudio setup which is broken "out of the box." Some fixes for that and various other issues are mentioned in the thread.
I went back to using Fedora 7, myself. |
