Hi hows it going guys, Ive recently joined this forum to learn more about the ps2 and such.
I just had a question about translating jap ps2 games. Im a big racing gamer and im kinda getting sick and tired of all of the good racing games only coming out in japan and usually half of them are in japanese. I have a buddy who knows japanese and we wanted to make our own backup of the game, but translate it into english. I have a modded ps2 but id like to actually play the games in english.
So, if somebody can at least point me in the right direction on how to accomplish this, i would appreciate it greatly. Thanks :)

Yeah. Got What you want to do. but it will not be easy.
You should know exactly which file have the resources
and Unpack the cryptic file, translate, and repack and so on.
(may be much more complicated.)
And you know this may have a "LEGAL" problem.

These forums are for homebrew PS2DEV, we don't deal with hacking official games here.
