Hi,
I'm interested in reverse engineering the pkg file format used for the contents distributed online for the PS3 and I was wondering if there is someone that already started this task or which has some material or info on this file format.
We could start a discussion on .pkg files in this thread.
I hope I didn't break any rule. :P

PKG is a file format used by sony to protect copyrighted files, and as you say its to try and look at info on the downloaded games. (unless you mean the pkg file in the firmware update)
This would be againt the forum rules, so I doubt you'll get any help.

Although that being said I'm sure there are lots of people looking at most of the PS3 file formats but I doubt the cracking will be discussed here. |
