Seen a quite cheesy thing popping up with PSP:
Some of these so called software packages are no more than re-packaged open source programs slapping a bunch of codecs and video compression code together.

It seems that some of these "companies" like this Kai Sakura iPSP deal are targeting Japanese people who don't know better (that you should be able to get this stuff for free).

Oh well, this stuff should remain as it is: free hobbyist software.

Imagine if everyone had been charging for emulators for the past 10 years. It's just not the way to go.

I'd have to imagine people attempting to stick their neck in and get a profit out of PSP should be slapped down any week now by Sony.

If you see any software that gets packaged in a way that breaks that said softwares original license, then contact the author(s) of that said software.

Now prepare.

You fucking idiot, dont ever write anything remotely close to this piece of garbage ever again, selling OSS programs is not a crime, its even embraced by a multitude of OSS licenses out there, if you ever utter the letters G P L I will hunt you down and strap C4 around each and every bone of yours, second you put down a whole nation(Japan) of individuals for not knowing better ( knowing what ? ), is OSS exclusive to the western world, does all OSS enthusiasts/programmers come from the western world, its a shame various OSS projects ever had any significant input from "Japanese people".

I would be eternally happy if emulators WOULD have been charged for the past 10 years, then perhaps I would not have to see numerous wanking idiots screaming for someone else to port the next emu on the latest system.

I agree that the topic is less than sensible in these forums. However can you please try and keep the rants to a PG rating. These type of responses is what I expect to see on some other low-brow sites. While I know the current crop of newbies are frustrating, I'd prefer we try and keep it reasonably nice.
