The ps2quake port is only a port of the SOFTWARE rendered version. It's not a port of QuakeGL. This means graphics quality is poor (8bit, no texture filtering, ...), and frame rates and resolutions are low. Simply put, my simple cell-phone (nokia 6120, no fpu, no gpu) gives the same quality, resolution, and speed. The PS2 can do much better...

I've used the ps2quake version with just minor modifications to verify the OpenGL implementation in Bricks-OS for the PS2. It shows better image quality, but it's not finished. After walking in the game for a few seconds it crashes. I want to get it working one day, but I haven't worked on it in a long time.

Excellent! The link from ps2scene includes sources. Now we can work on improvments on this port. I can add HDD and CDVD support by using code of ps2doom.

But I have to find time to work on this project...

I already work on it (if I have free time). I've added hdd, sound, cdda player support. If you want I can share my source code with you and we can work together on ps2 quake.

Oh, I'm sorry I've been out for a long time.
Sure you can share the code and we can work on it.
