ps3vram is up to 50% faster - does this affect anything?

So I read that ps3vram is faster, but my question is whether anything - the os, emulators, etc currently uses ps3vram?

I.e. does ps3vram speeding up affect performance in any noticeable way for someone that uses YDL for emulators, web browsing, etc?

Does memory swapping play much of a role in these apps?

pdaXrom-ng uses vram for store squashfs-ed root filesystem (128MB max) and swap partition (128MB).

There were some claims that ps3vram performance has actually suffered quite a bit recently (maybe related to firmware or kernel version). I haven't yet had a chance to figure out why.

A recent patch appears to have resulted in ps3vram performance above what was previously achieved.
